FFX Mill stands for Flexible Forming Mill. FFX Mill is the new generation of pipe forming machine that improves the function of original FF Mill. Like FF Mill, it utilizes the involute curve rolls, and “X” is added to imply infinite possibilities to “FF Mill” technology, making it “FFX Mill”.
FFX Mill features the aforementioned common-use rolls with involute curved profiles, and rational mill rigidity, realizing ideal forming thanks to the use of FEM forming/structure simulation technology. Since its introduction in 1998, the FFX Mill has continued to gain both local and international recognition for its revolutionary roll-forming technology. The FFX Mill continued to develop and improve with the support of FEM simulation technology, winning the JSTP Aida Technology Award in 1999, as well as managing the first time export of our FFX machine to a major European steel company as part of a ERW pipe plant. In 2010, Nakata received the Okomochi Memorial Prize, widely regarded as the highest honour in the Japanese Manufacturing Industry, for our invention and continued success with the FFX Mill.
1. Common-use rolls for the entire FFX, including the breakdown section (no need for roll-change for products within 1:3 t/D ratio).
2. NC Automatic roll positioning function
3. Stable production of high qualuty pipes (simulation through FEM technology)
4. Superior reproduction capabilities, optimal roll-forming, and fine adjustment function
FFX Mill is used to manufacture pipes used in various places around the world, including pipes for automobile parts, steel pipes for construction and civil engineering, oil well pipes used in the energy field, and line pipes.
